Big Houston adventures

Last weekend, Grandma Polly and Auntie Kelsey came for a visit. There is nothing like having visitors to really make a city feel new all over again... Since moving here, we've not gotten out as much as we had thought! We had a great time at our first Art Car Parade, despite arriving late and without a nap. We also headed out for the first of many trips to the Hermann Park Zoo. The baby elephant was a huge hit.

UH-OH

three wheelin'

We've taken it to the streets....sort of. Lilly is tickled pink with the new tricycle, immediately putting her hands on the handlebars. If only her feet made it to the pedals.

Lilly loves the camera! After much procrastination, we've managed to upload photos to our computer.

Mobility!

The day has come.....Lilly is off and crawling. Yes, friends, our previously immobile daughter has figured out how to make the hands and knees act in concert. We often find her following us into other rooms. How big her world is becoming!! She has also gained the ability to assume the downward dog position of yoga fame. Shoes, despite their inherent stinkiness, are a hit. What a hoot.

Meanwhile, Cory and I are in denial about having to begin properly baby-proofing the house. Many, many pointy corners, hard edges, rocks, books, electrical cables (the list is seemingly endless) exist as little land mines around the house. Redirection is working for now, but soon enough the task of relocating potential hazards is going to have to happen.
